2012 Rolex Yachtsman of the Year awards and navigator list
With the registration books near the close of a year of racing, the U.S. Vela celebrates the most outstanding performance of the year with the launch of the list of candidates for the 2012 Rolex Yachtsman of the Year Awards and navigator. Those in the 2012 list for the diversity of the sport of kiteboarding champions of a design.
Shortlisted candidates for 2012 U.S. Sailing Rolex Watches Yachtsman the Year: Audi Melges 32 European champion Jason Carroll (New York, NY); Skud-18 Paralympic silver medalist JP Creignou (St. Petersburg, Florida) Sailing World Champion Speed IKA Rob Douglas ( Vineyard Martha, Mass.); Rolex Farr 40 World Champion Bill Hardesty (San Diego, CA), Kiteboarding World Champion Johnny Heineken (Larkspur, California), World Champion John Kilroy Melges 32 (Los Angeles, California), J / 24 U.S. Champion John Mollicone (Newport, RI) and Delta Lloyd Regatta Finn Champion Caleb Paine (San Diego, CA).
Selected candidates for 2012 Rolex U.S. Sailor Sailing of the Year Award: ISAF Women's Match Racing Worlds bronze medalist Sally Barkow (Nashotah, WI), Skandia Sail for Gold silver medal Amanda Clark (Shelter Island, NY); Farr 30 World Champion Deneen Demourkas ( Santa Barbara, CA); Skud-18 Paralympic silver medalist Jen French (St. Petersburg, Florida); Kiteboard Racing World Champion Erica Heineken (Larkspur, California), and Trofeo SAR Princesa Sofia Mapfre Elliott 6m Champion Anna Tunnicliffe (Plantation, Florida) .
Nominees are judged by a panel of sailing journalists noted that discuss the merits of each candidate and vote of the 2012 Rolex Yachtsman U.S. to determine Sailing and sailor of the year. The winners will be announced in January and honored on Tuesday, February 26, 2013, during a luncheon at the St. Francis Yacht Club in San Francisco, when they will be presented with Rolex replica watches.
